How To Play Lightning Baccarat

You start off the game with players selecting whether to bet on the Banker or the Players hand. You also have the option to bet on if the hand will result in a tie. There are also additional optional side bets of Player or Banker Pair. If these are won, it will result in an enhanced payout no matter the outcome of the main bet. Once the betting time is up, you will see that a 20% Lightning Fee is added to the players total bet.

Now the Lightning Round will start where up to 5 cards will be randomly selected from a virtual deck of 52 cards. Each selected card will then have a random multiplier assigned to it, with a value of x2, x3, x4, x5 or x8. After this, the game round will be next. Should you land a win on a hand with one or more matching Lightning Cards, then your winnings will be multiplied by the indicated value, which could be up to 512x your total stake. The dealer will go on to deal the cards to both the Banker and the Player positions, following standard baccarat rules, meaning the 3 card rule also will apply as normal. During this main round, you will be notified if either of the hands are a Lightning Card.

Before placing any bets, you will need to know the values of the cards being used. Some cards will keep their face values, while other will have other values assigned to them. The cards between 2 and 9 hold their face value, while Kings, Queens, Jacks and 10s are all worth 0 points. Should any hand exceed the value of 9, the total will be adjusted by subtracting 10.

Lightning Baccarat Bonus Features

The main feature in the game is a random Lightning Multiplier feature that can boost your winnings significantly. In each round, up to five cards are chosen as the Multipliers. If they appear in any hand (Player or Banker), and you placed a bet there, you will win that Multiplier. For instance, if the Multiplier is 4x and you win a Tie, the payout will be 20x (4 times 5, because Tie payout is 5:1). However, there is a catch. If you play a round, a 20% commission from your bet will go as the Lightning Fee. Essentially, you are paying for this feature with a fifth of each bet. There is no possibility to opt-out because this is obligatory for every active player at the table.

Lightning Baccarat Game Rules

Lightning Baccarat has the same rules as traditional baccarat with some additions for the bonus round. The game is hosted by a dealer and is played with eight standard 52-card decks. Card values are as follows:

• Cards from 2 to 9 are worth their numerical face values.

• 10s and face cards (Jacks, Queens and Kings) are each worth 0.

• Only the numeric value of each card is relevant in the main Baccarat game; Each card's suit (hearts, spades, clubs or diamonds) is irrelevant.

• Prior to each deal, you must place your bet on whether the Player or the Banker will win the round by having the hand with a value closest to 9. You also have the option to bet that the round will end in a Tie, which occurs when both the Player and Banker hold hands of equal value.

• The dealer begins by dealing two cards each to the Player and to the Banker.

• If the Player and Banker hold hands of equal value, the round ends in a tie. The Tie bet wins, and bets on the Player and Banker push (are returned).

• Each hand's value is calculated by dropping the tens digit in a hand otherwise worth 11 or more. For example, a 7 and a 9 is only worth 6 in Baccarat (because 16-10=6). Similarly, a face card plus a 9 will be worth 9.

• If the Player or the Banker receives an initial two-card hand worth 8 or a 9 (a "natural" 8 or 9), no additional cards will be dealt to either hand.

• If the Player and Banker receive initial two-card hands worth 0-7, the "Third Card Rule" is consulted to determine if a third card is to be dealt to either hand or both hands. The Player always goes first.

• If one or more of the Lightning Cards are part of a winning bet (including any side-bets and the Tie bet), all payouts are multiplied by the Lightning Cards’ values.
