How To Play Craps

The game of Craps has always been a bit daunting for beginners. If you want to play Craps live casino game, though, you’ll have to have a firm grasp of the rules. The object of craps is basically to get the right numbers by rolling dice. Rolling a 7 or 11 generally means the person rolling won, while 2, 3, or 12 are busts. All other options can be a win or a loss, depending on the wagers you made. However, the fundamental bet during real money play is called the Pass Line. It predicts that the person rolling will get a 7 or 11, but loses on a 2, 3, or 12. You can also opt to bet against the person rolling. This is why Craps is a community game. Although only one person is rolling at a time, the entire table is invested in the action. Before you can start enjoying the dice throws, you need to place your bets. Choose one of the available coin values, and place them on the wager you want to play. Players are also given the option to set bets between dice throws too.

Your spins are trying to predict what the sum of the two dice will be. However, what result you want to draw depends on the type of stake you play. Pass and Don’t Pass bets can only be played on the first dice throw of the round. Pass wins if you roll a seven or eleven. Don’t Pass Wins if you draw a two or three, and push in case of a twelve. Come and Don’t Come bets follow the same rules, but they can only be played after the initial wager. However, if none of the numbers we mention are drawn first, a point is established. For example, the dice display the number eight. Now, Pass wagers will win if the point number is rolled again before the number seven appears. Don’t Pass bets will grant a prize if the number seven is rolled before the point number.

Craps Game Rules

The game has two phases – the Come Out phase and the Point roll phase. Each allows for different bets and is signified by the puck on the table. The Come Out phase is all about the Pass and Don’t Pass wagers we covered above. If any result other than 2, 3, 7, 11, or 12 is shown, the game proceeds to the Point Roll phase. In this phase, the dealer will continue rolling again and again until a 7 is shown. Point Roll bets in Craps are not settled on the first roll. Instead, they stay on the table until they’re resolved, which is why they’re often called Multi-roll bets. Check out the list below for details.

• Pass Line/Don’t Pass Line – if neither of these is resolved during the Come Out roll, they win if the same number is rolled again.

• Come – This bet also wins on a 7 or 11 and loses on 2, 3, and 12. However, it can be placed on any Point roll in the round. If it’s not resolved, it wins if the same number is rolled again before a 7. You may place any number of Come bets during the Point Roll.

• Don’t Come – Essentially the same as Come, but it wins on a 2 or 3, pushes on 12, and loses on 7 or 11. If it’s not settled on the first roll, this wager wins if the first result is not shown before a 7.

• Take Odds – this wager is ‘tied’ to any unresolved Pass Line/Come bets you have on the table. It offers true betting odds on the chance that the number established with Pass/Come will come before a 7. It wins if the Pass/Come bet wins.

• Lay Odds – the same as Take Odds, only tied to a Don’t Pass or Don’t Come bet.

• Place to Win – a simple wager on whether the numbers 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 will be shown before a 7. You select one of the options, and it sticks around until a 7 appears.

• Place to Lose – predicts that the numbers 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 will not appear before a 7.

• Hardways – places a stake on one or more pairs of Hardways. These are essentially pairs of numbers, like 3 and 3. The bet wins if the pair appears before a 7 or different combination with the same total. For example, if the dice show 5 and 1, you’d lose a Hardways bet on 3.

One Roll bets in Craps are another, perhaps simpler way to play live craps online. Unlike multi-roll bets, these are always resolved in the next roll and don’t stick around. You can place these during both the Come Out and Point Roll phases, and the next roll always resolves it. Evolution have even included a so-called “easy mode.” This option just shrinks down the bet table to a few popular options.

• Field – wins if the next total is 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, or 12. Pays 1:1, unless it wins with a 2 or 12, in which case it pays 2:1.

• Seven – covers all possible combinations for a total of 7.

• Craps – wins if the next roll shows 2, 3, or 12.

• Crap 2 – wins on a total of 2.

• Crap 3 – wins on a total of 3.

• Crap 12 – wins on a total of 12.

• Eleven – wins on a total of 11.

• C–E – Covers total results of 2, 3, 11, and 12. Wins a bigger payout if the result is 11.
